MMLC Maple Syrup

Founded in 1978 by the inventor and visionary Donald Lapierre, Les Érablieres Lapierre, is a business specialized in the manufacturing of pure 100% biologic maple syrup, and Les Équipements Lapierre inc are equipment and accessories for the production of maple products and membrane technologies.

The arrival of the so-called developed sap occurs when the metabolism of the tree is revived. It is much more loaded with minerals and complex organic molecules which gives it its bitter taste and marks the end of the sap harvest.

Lapierre Maple Farm is located in Milan, Canada and taps approximately 140,000 sugar maple trees each season for the purest maple syrup. Ninety percent of Lapierre’s maple sugarbush is made up of sugar maples and 10% are a mixture of silver and red maple. In 2002, they provided Metro Inc. stores’ with 100 percent pure maple syrup that identified the specific growing region or sugar bush, the only producer to do so. Lapierre Maple Farms believes that much like wine and olive oil, the flavor profile of maple syrup varies with each growing region. The Canadian Counsel of Food Distribution honored Metro Inc. and Lapierre Maple Farm at the Canadian Grand Prix received a new product award in 2004 for the exceptional quality of their Maple Syrup Sirobec ™ product.

In 2012 a sample of Lapierre Maple Syrup Grade “A” Dark Amber from a regular production run was submitted to the prestigious North American Maple Syrup Council for judging by fellow sugar makers at the annual meeting in Mystic Ct. Lapierre was award an EXCELLENT BLUE RIBBION AWARD for meeting and exceeding expectations in the area of flavor, aroma, and quality.
